Assessment of Biological Literacy Levels Among Third-Grade Secondary School Students in Medina

چکیده

This research aims to assess the levels of biological literacy (nominal, functional, structural, and multi-dimensional) among students third grade scientific secondary school in Medina. To achieve objectives research, researcher used descriptive analytical method, a sample (340) was selected by random cluster method. A scale prepared light Project (2061) Vision, Uno Bybee model (Uno & Bybee, 1994) students’ ability identify concepts (nominal literacy), define some (functional understand diagrams (structural measuring skills on understanding short text (multi-dimensional literacy). The results reflected high level nominal low multi-dimensional literacy. also showed that possessed functional structural level. study recommends biology teachers use effective teaching methods enable them present knowledge form social issues problems related technology other sciences.
